The entire world is now suffering from so many fatal problems . One of the most such serious problems is HIV/AIDS . it is not only a very serious medical phenomenon but it is also a grievous problem from ethical perspective. According to Professor Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman , the Malaysian AIDS Council president, between 1986 and June 2005 , a total of 62,597 men were infected with HIV and 9106 men were diagnosed as AIDS patients in Malaysia. Most of the HIV-positive men are young adults aged between 20 to 29 years. Women, on the other hand, 4841 were HIV-positive and 938 were living with AIDS. For the world occurrence , it was estimated that there were 1600 new HIV infection per day, which corresponds to 10 infections per minute. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Kamal Hassan , in one of his speeches said, "Religious authorities and community leaders must be the catalyst to transform the response to HIV/AIDS . The paper will highlight that the measures that are being adopted by Malaysian or world AIDS organization may not be sufficient to control the problem.

2006-12-02T00:00:00ZDEVELOPMENT OF EARTHQUAKE DISASTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN BANTUL : STUDY ON HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGE FOR THEIR RECONSTRUCTION
http://repository.umy.ac.id/handle/123456789/9997
Right after the huge devastation of the earthquake of 6.3 Richter scale in Yogyakarta and Central Java on May 27, 2006, which caused caused 5800 people to die , injured around 38000 and robbed hundreds of thousands of residential buildings, emergency response procedures, and reconstruction and recovery programs have been undertaken . This is followed by resources mobilization by both the central and local government , and non-government organizations for rescue and relief efforts. After attending the emergency measures of rescuing trapped survivors, treating in injured and providing care and shelter for the needy, the government focuses its attention on the long-term task of reconstruction , rehabilitation , and enhancing the prevention and rescue mechanism. The severe but tolerable damages to lifeline systems are mostly found on pipes and joines , because of the damages to buildings and roads .

http://repository.umy.ac.id/handle/123456789/9989
Cardiovascular reactivity has been identified as potentially playing a role in the development of cardiovascular disease. It can be used as a non-intensive method to identify the preclinical state of the cardiovascular disease. However , many studies on cardiovascular reactivity in normotensive young adults with family history of hypertension showed incosistent and controversial results. The objective of the studyis to find out if normotensive young adults with family history of hypertension have inceased cardiovascular reactivity to mental aritmetic test and cold pressors test as compared to normotensive yougn adults without family history of hypertension. Normotensive undergraduate students, aged 20-30 years of hypertensive parents and of normotensive parents performed mental arithmetic test and cold pressor test. Cardiovascular parameters were recorded before , during and after the test with automated oscillometric device. Delta change score rather than absolute score were analyzed. There were no significant differences in age , body mass index, fasting blood sugar and plasma creatinine level between the two groups.

http://repository.umy.ac.id/handle/123456789/9987
Diagnostic potential of autofluorescence spectroscopy and imaging for early detection of precencerous and malignant lesions has been actively investigated for almost twenty years. Flourscence diagnosis based on excititation of the fluorescence of endogenous fluorophores methods may provide an important auxiliary tool assiting and facilitating the correct diagnosis but their diagnostic merit still has to be proven in properly performed randomized studies.
