Bandung is the largest city in West Java and the third largest city by population in Indonesia after Jakarta and Surabaya. It is located about 140 km from the state capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. With the conditions of the population and the strategic place, the city of Bandung has a lot of potentials to be developed. One way that is done by Bandung to develop it’s potentials is by establishing a sister city partnership where in this case the city of Bandung chooses Braunschweig as a partner in the sister city partnership. The writer will try to examine the background of renewed agreement between the cities in 2000. In this study, the writer will use the complex interdependence theory as a tool to understand why Bandung chooses Braunschweig city as the partner in the sister city partnership. The writer uses methods of library research where the data are secondary source. All data are taken from books, journals, articles on the internet, and other data relevant to the research.en_US
