| dc.description | International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an autonomous international organization within the United Nations system that seeks to promote the use of nuclear energy as peace purposes. It is due to the abusement of nuclear use will presumably create security instability all over the world, particularly after the nuclear test conducted by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in 2006 and 2009. As a result, those nuclear tests were condemn form all of the international community. It makes the role of IAEA is paramount importace in this issue. The IAEA’s role would be an inspection which consist of controling, investigating and reporting. All of the inspection process will be reported to the United Nations. The next step would be the sanction impose that will proceed either by UN or United Nations Security Council (UNSC) which are based on 1718 and 1874 resolution. | dc.description.abstract | International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) merupakan organisasi internasional dan badan khusus Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) yang berusaha mempromosikan penggunaan nuklir untuk tujuan damai. Penggunaan nuklir yang disalahgunakan dapat membuat stabilitas keamanan dunia internasional terganggu, terutama setelah uji coba nuklir yang dilakukan Korea Utara pada tahun 2006 dan 2009, masyarakat international mengutuk uji coba nuklir tersebut. Adanya peran dari IAEA dinilai sangat penting, IAEA memiliki peran dalam melakukan inspeksi berupa pengawasan, investigasi serta laporan dari hasil pengawasan dan investigasi kepada pihak PBB. Langkah selanjutnya akan diperankan oleh PBB atau Dewan Keamanan PBB dengan memberikan sanksi yang tercantum dalam resolusi 1718 dan 1874. Sanksi yang dijatuhkan PBB terhadap Korea Utara berupa sanksi ekonomi dan sanksi embargo. | en_US |
