| dc.description | Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or VDI is an improvement of virtualization technology created by IT vendors, and Microsoft is one vendor that provides VDI. This technology was developed to solve the problems caused by the increasing number of desktop PC globally.
This study aims to design and build a Microsoft VDI on a server and then create a virtual desktop where users access it via a remote connection from the laptop. This research uses waterfall method with four stages of testing like VDI connection test, virtual desktop performance test, virtual desktop update test, and user profile disk test. The test results from using VDI technology that is virtual desktop that is made able to be accessed by user through laptop with old hardware without reducing performance of virtual desktop itself when running various applications. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Virtual Desktop Infrastucture atau VDI merupakan sebuah pengembangan dari teknologi virtualisasi yang dibuat oleh vendor-vendor IT terkemuka, dan salah satu vendor tersebut adalah Microsoft. Teknologi ini dikembangkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang disebabkan oleh meningkatnya jumlah desktop PC secara global.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun Microsoft VDI pada sebuah server kemudian membuat virtual desktop dimana user mengaksesnya melalui remote connection dari laptop. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode waterfall dengan empat tahap pengujian yaitu tes koneksi VDI, tes performa virtual desktop, tes update virtual desktop, dan tes user profile disk. Hasil pengujian dari menggunakan teknologi VDI yaitu virtual desktop yang dibuat mampu diakses oleh user melalui laptop dengan hardware lawas tanpa mengurangi performa virtual desktop itu sendiri baik saat menjalankan aplikasi yang berbeda | en_US |
