| dc.description.abstract | Developing organic rice farming on the farmers level was still difficult, because many farmers did not dare to face risks, either the risk production or the risk price. The farmers’ success to achieve such farming performance was determined by their ability of behavior, knowledge, and skills actualized in farming. Their entrepreneurship was one of factors to determine the business success focusing on the market especially in facing the risks. This research study was conducted among the organic rice farmers in Bantul Regency numbering 123 respondents. The analysis method of organic farmers behavior toward the risk, by Kumbhakar dan Tsionas method (2002) namely an approach method using the method of development parametric regression from the Model of Just and Pope (l978). The reseach findings showed that the behavior of organic rice farmers toward the risk production and the risk price mostly (70%) as the Risk Avers either those with high entrepreneurship characteristics or the low ones. The percentage of organic rice farmers as the risk takers and also as high entrepreneurship characteristics was higher than those with the low ones. According to several previous studies, most famers were the risk avers, however, by developing the entrepreneurship characteristics supported, the government policy through training as well as intensive and sustainable assistance starting from cultivation, post-harvest to marketing the organic rice expected to change the farmers behavior to be bolder in taking the risks, thus, the production can be improved to be as the expected price. | en_US |
