Tooth Brushing before bedtime is important because salivary production is less effective during bedtime. Saliva serves as self cleansing that can cleanse the oral cavity. Brushing your teeth as a mechanical stimulus and toothpaste as a gustatory stimulus can increase salivary secretion. Salivary secretion may increase phosphate as a buffer capacity in neutralizing pH to remain stable and produce remineralization to prevent caries. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the effect of the habit of brushing before bedtime to salivary phosphate and Plaque Index. Methods: This study was clinical laboratory research with post test only group design. Independent t-test and Correlation Bivariate were used in this study. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05 Results: The result of this research showed that subject with habitual tooth brushing before bedtime was 3947.9 ppm and subject without habitual tooth brushing before bedtime was 2363.3 ppm. There was significant colleration between two groups p=0,028 (p<0.05). Plaque Index was also significant p=0,007 (p<0.05) Conclusion: The statistic test showed that there was an effect of habitual tooth brushing before bedtime to salivary phosphate and Plaque Index (p<0.05)en_US
