WILLINGNESS TO PAY PETANI TEMBAKAU TERHADAP ASURANSI KESEHATAN ATAS RISIKO TERPAPAR PENYAKIT GREEN TOBACCO SICKNESS

This study aims to determine the value of Willingness To Pay (WTP) of tobacco farmers in Jember Regency to pay for health insurance because they are at risk of exposure of Green Tobacco sickness (GTS) disease.The method used in this research is a contingent valuation method (CVM). By using this method, it can be measured the amount of willingness to pay (WTP). The data collection technique used was a direct interview with 394 respondents with the dichotomous method. Based on the results of binary logistic regression test in this study, it is showed that 64% of respondents are willing to pay health insurance, income, education level, and green tobacco sickness significantly influence willingness to pay, while age variable, family, and periode of work has no effect on willingness to pay. The results of this study are expected to provide input to managers and policymakers in the framework of providing health insurance for tobacco farmers, especially in Jember District and in other regions in Indonesia.
