| dc.description.abstract | In this undergraduate thesis will explain about the reason of Indonesia in cooperation of making military weapons with South Korea. Indonesia has not been able to fulfill domestic military weaponry. Indonesia still has to rely on other countries about the production of its military equipment. Indonesia's economy is also not stable, Indonesia still has to pay its foreign debt, so this makes the budget for defense is limited. Therefore, Indonesia must inevitably have to work to build the independence of its defense industry with a fairly limited defense budget. Indonesia has established defense cooperation with other countries such as America, Russia and China. However, in the effort of developing its military equipment, Indonesia choose South Korea as a partner of defense cooperation. South Korea’s military forces are still under America, Rusia, and China. This research will discuss about the reason why Indonesia choose South Korea as a partner of defense cooperation. In this research, the writer used qualitative method by using descriptive analysis method. While the technique of data collection is Library Research Technique. Theories and concepts that used are the concept of national interest and the theory of foreign policy decision, Rational Actor Model. The result of this research is that The interest of Indonesia in establishing defense cooperation with South Korea is because South Korea offers Transfer of Technology, cheap funding system, no threat of embargo, and no negative sentiment from America. | en_US |
