dc.descriptionPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sifat fisis dan sifat mekanik hasil pengecoran connecting rod berbahan piston bekas dengan penambahan 0,05% Ti-B. Pengecoran menggunakan metode gravitasi dan cetakan yang digunakan adalah cetakan sand casting . Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan connecting rod, mengetahui hasil pengecoran dengan penambahan 0,05% Ti-B, dan mengetahui sifat fisis dan sifat mekanik connecting rod berbahan piston bekas dengan penambahan 0,05% Ti-B. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengujian komposisi kimia, pengujian struktur mikro dan pengujian kekerasan mikro vickers.Didapatkan hasil pengujian komposisi kimia unsur yang mendominan ialah Al 81,60% dan Si 13,0910% dan Mg 2,6306%. Pengujian struktur mikro menunjukan butiran yang halus dikarenakan ada penambahan unsur Ti-B 0,05%. Pengujian kekerasan makro vickers didaptakan hasil rata-rata 79.59 VHN.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis research was conducted to know thw physical properties and mechanical properties of connecting rod made from old piston with addition 0,05% Ti-B. Casting using gravity methode and the mold used is sand casting mold. The purpose of this research is to know the process of making connecting rod, to know the result of casting with addition of 0.05% Ti-B, and to know the physical properties and mechanical properties of connecting rod made from old piston with 0,05% Ti-B. Based on the results of research chemical composition, micro structure testing and macro vickers hardness testing. Obtained the results of testing the chemical composition the dominant element is Al 81.60% and Si 13.0910% and Mg 2.6306%. Microstructure testing showed fine grains due to the addition of Ti-B element 0.05%. Testing of hardness of macro vickers got an average result 79.59 VHN.en_US
