| dc.description | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang bagaimana respon dari Pemerintah Turki pada era Recep Tayyip Erdogan terhadap pengungsi Suriah di Turki. Lebih dari tiga juta warga sipil Suriah melarikan diri ke Turki sejak perang sipil Suriah meletus pada 2011 silam. Segera setelah itu, Pemerintah Turki di bawah komando Erdogan mengimplementasikan suatu kebijakan yang disebut open door policy bagi pengungsi Suriah yang melarikan diri dari rumah mereka. Selain kebijakan tersebut, satu hal yang masih perlu dipertanyakan adalah mengenai kepentingan di balik kebijakan tersebut. Analisis di bawah ini akan menunjukkan bagaimana Erdogan tengah berusaha menghidupkan kembali warisan kejayaan Turki Usmani yang akan digunakan sebagai identitas Turki dan membentuk kepentingan nasionalnya. Teori konstruktivisme dari Alexander Wendt menekankan pentingnya identitas dalam membentuk kepentingan nasional dan tindakan negara. Dalam penelitian ini, Erdogan menggunakan Neo-Ottomanisme sebagai identitas Turki saat ini. Neo-ottomanisme tersebut telah mendorong Turki untuk berperan aktif secara global dan menjadi pemimpin dunia Islam. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This study is to find out how the response of the Turkey’s Government in the Recep Tayyip Erdogan era towards Syrian refugees in Turkey. More than three million Syria civilians have been fled to Turkey since the Syrian civil war emerged in 2011. Soon afterwards, the Turkey’s Government under Erdogan's command implements a policy named open door policy for Syrian refugees fleeing from their homes. In addition, one thing that remains to be questioned is the interest behind its policy. The analysis below will show how Erdogan is trying to revive the Ottoman empire’s legacy as Turkey’s identity and shape its national interest. The constructivism theory of Alexander Wendt emphasizes on identity that shape national interest and action. In this study, Erdogan uses Neo-Ottomanism as Turkey's current identity. Neo-Ottomanism encourages Turkey to play a global role and become a leader of the Islamic world | en_US |
