dc.description.abstractWater catchment area is basically not to be explored excessively because it will have an impact on soil structure that previously fertile and stable then it will turn into fragments that will not be able to hold water when it rains, so that the land that was previously categorized fertile into arid land and it’s nutriens element content is reduced. Potential damage to forests and water catchment areas in the Majalengka Regency highly increases in line with the medium-long term plan in the Majalengka Regency. This research aiming to create a map Catchments in Majalengka. The research has been conducted in Majalengka from February to March 2018. The method used in the study was a survey with technical implementation of map overlaying and scoring using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The data used is secondary data. The data used is the Land Use Map, Map of Precipitation 2013-2017, Soil Texture Map, Slope-Land Map and Spatial Planning and Administration (RTRW) Majalengka 2011-2031 Kabupaten Majalengka 2011-2031. The results showed that Majalengka has three conformance classes catchment area, namely the class quite appropriate, less appropriate and not appropriate. Suitability classes watersheds in Majalengka is as follows: (a) quite appropriate 39739.92 ha, (b) less appropriate 66233.30 ha and (c) not appropriate 14450.88 ha.en_US
