| dc.description.abstract | Bantul Regency is an area that potentially has a high risk for natural disasters. One of Bantul Regency governmental roles in overcoming disasters is to form TAGANA (Disaster Response Cadets) organization. However, TAGANA in Bantul still has obstacles, they are; the lack of human resources as well as the lack of knowledge and disaster understanding byTAGANA members mainly about the characteristics of natural disasters, since handling emergency response requires an adequate team in terms of quality and quantity so the effectiveness of the program needs to be analyzed essentially related to its roles and responsibilities in the implementation of TAGANA emergency role.
ThisresearchultimatelyaimstounderstandonhowistheeffectivityofTAGANA (DisasterResponseCadets)program in handlingdisasterresponsemanagement in Bantul Regency.
This research designed in descriptive analytic type of research which describes the extent activities of TAGANA emergency response program and analyzes whether the program is effective or not. The primary data used were interviews with TAGANA team in Bantul while secondary data gained from Bantul Social Service Performance Report and Bantul District Strategic Plan.
TAGANA has vision and mission to achieve its goals. The vision and mission of TAGANA has a tight correlation with the vision of Bantul Social Service mission. TAGANAmembers in Bantulare required to know and understand the contents of the vision and mission that TAGANABantul has enacted. In carrying out its program, TAGANA also has many innovations so that programs run effectively. TAGANA in carrying out its duties concerned on overcoming disasters is focused on managing public kitchens as a priority program owned by TAGANA.
TAGANABantul program in disaster emergency response operations has been effective but it is necessary to increase the quantity of facilities and infrastructure owned by TAGANA in carrying out emergency response.
