This research aims to discuss Taiwan, a country in East Asia which its sovereignty has not recognized by many countries in the world. It stands to reason because Taiwan was part of the mainland China until it decided to secede after the civil war which had won by Chinese Communist Party. Besides, the emerging of ‘One China Policy’ turns out to be an obstacle for Taiwan to show their existence. Behind its struggle to gain the world recognition, Taiwan obtains a big success in economics which made it phenomenal. Moreover, Taiwan is considered to be one of the four Asian Tigers which have strong economic powers and dominations in Asia. Therefore, this research will look for the factors which made Taiwan become a strong economic power for East Asia (Asian Tigers) even though in political side Taiwan only gets recognition from few countries only. To analyze that problem, the researcher employed 3 determinants theory which is proposed by Wiliam D. Coplin.en_US
