dc.description | Removable orthodontics are orthodontic devices that can be installed and removed by the patient. Use of removable orthodontic appliance is usually only used for mild malocclusions and should not be for the treatment of complex malocclusions. Removable orthodontic appliances are not used in patients with poor oral hygiene. The phonation process is divided into five stages: respiration, vocal, resonance, articulation, and control. The oral cavity is a very important organ in the articulation phase, through the movement of the mandible, the tongue, the lips of the teeth and the ceiling. To produce the sound of all consonants, the tongue comes into contact with the teeth, alveolar, hard palate and soft palate. Some consonant letters involving the palate are consonant L and R. When pronouncing the consonants L and R tongue are in the palate. In removable orthodontic patients there is no tongue support on the palate as it is covered by a base plate. This allows the difficulty of pronunciation of consonants L and R. | en_US |
