This Skripsi explain about the country of Myanmar has adopted a system of military rule since the coup of Ne Win in 1988. Since the military junta took over the power system, many policies have been taken to the detriment of the people. Communities that have not been able to withstand adverse decisions finally take action to voice their dissatisfaction with the government. Aung San Suu Kyi who was disappointed with the treatment of the military junta government against demonstrators ventured to plunge into politics in her own country. Conducting non-violent protests is a method taken by Aung San Suu Kyi to fight the actions of the military junta. In the 1990 elections the party founded by Aung San Suu Kyi, the NLD won, but the government did not recognize the victory and made Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest. But the intention to make Myanmar a democratic country is not lost even though Aung San Suu Kyi is under house arrest and there is increasing support from the people of Myanmar and the international community.en_US
