The attitudes and behavior of community to eradicate the mosquito nests(PSN)can influence the incidence of dengue. It is estimated that the knowledge of people in high endemic areas is higher than in low endemic areas because they are more often given counseling, although the question is still related to attitudes and behavior. Dengue endemicity status which was originally low can increase along with the expansion of urban areas, so that if the attitude and behavior of the community to PSN is not good, then it is possible to increase the status of endemicity to be easier. This study aims to compare the attitudes and behavior of communities to PSN between high endemic areas and low endemic areas. The study used a cross sectional design, involving 685 respondents with details of 338 respondents representing high endemic areas (GampingSubdistrict) and 345 respondents representing low endemic areas (MoyudanSubdistrict). Data were obtained using a questionnaire and analyzed by Mann-Whitney difference test. The results showed that the average score of attitudes and behaviors in high endemic areas was slightly higher (78.87 and 57.71) than low endemic areas (77.95 and 56.66). Mann-Whitney analysis proves that there is no difference in the scores of community attitudes and behaviors to PSN between the two regions with p value 0.082 for attitudes and 0.305 for behavior. It was concluded that the attitudes and behavior of community to PSN between high and low endemic areas in Sleman Regency were the same.en_US
