dc.description | Hybrid resin composite is a composite resin that is good both in strength and aesthetic, but resin needs bonding and primer in order to bond to the teeth’s surface. Total-etch bonding is a bonding agent which requires etching on application process, where this bonding type has better adhesion strength in dentin than self-etch bonding, in practice the application of bonding material takes time to reach the goal to achieve adhesion between the hydrophobic resin composite and hydrophilic dentin. One type of resin composite that is popular, has a mechanical strength and has good aesthetic is hybrid resin composite.
This study aims to determine the application time effect of total-etch bonding to the shear bond strength of the adhesion hybrid composite resin on dentin. This study is experimental laboratory. This study used 24 samples of maxillary and mandible premolar post-extraction. The research sample was given four different treatment, namely the application time total-etch bonding material (5 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds). The data is processed using one-way ANOVA and post-hoc LSD test with 95% significance level (P <0.05).
The results showed that there were significant application time of total etch bonding material to the shear bond strength of the hybrid composite resin on dentin. Analysis of one-way ANOVA test result shows that there is a significant influence on the shear bond strength of the adhesion of the hybrid composite resin applied to dentin with total-etch bonding material in a variety of time is a significant 0,000 (p <0.05).
It can be concluded from this study that there are significant applications time of total-etch bonding material to the shear bond strength of the adhesion hybrid composite resin in dentin, the best shear bond strength is the application time of a total-etch bonding material for 20 seconds. | en_US |
