dc.descriptionBackground: The main cause of blindness in the world to date is cataract with a proportion of 47.8% and second place is glaucoma with a proportion of 12.3%. Therefore glaucoma is the second place that causes blindness throughout world. Primary open-angle glaucoma is the most common type of glaucoma, about 1 in 100 people over the age of 40 years. The purpose of this study is knowing the relationship of age factors with the incidence of primary glaucoma in Yogyakarta City Hospital. Methods: An observational descriptive analytical study in a retrospective method with cross sectional design using secondary medical records. This study used a sample of 72 who met the inclusion criteria and regardless of the exclusion criteria treated at the Eye Polyclinic in Yogyakarta City Hospital. Test statistics using Chi-Square. Results: The results of the this study showed that the relationship age factor was significant with the incidence of primary glaucoma p = 0.00 and the value of C = 0.586 . There was a significant relationship between gender and the type of primary glaucoma with p = 0.002 value C = 0.461. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between age factors and the incidence of primary glaucoma. There was a significant relationship between gender and type of primary glaucoma.en_US
