| dc.description | Pada awal tahun 2018 Korea Utara (Korut) menjadi sorotan dunia internasional terkait keikutsertaannya dalam gelaran Olimpiade Musim Dingin Pyeongchang 2018 yang diselenggarakan di Korea Selatan (Korsel). Keikutsertaan ini adalah yang pertama kalinya bagi Korut, setelah melakukan pemboikotan pada gelaran Olimpiade Musim Panas Seoul 1988 yang juga digelar di Korsel. Dari keikutsertaan Korut dalam ajang tersebut tentunya ada kepentingan dibaliknya, ada hal-hal yang menjadi faktor pendorong dari keputusan Korut untuk ikut serta dalan ajang olimpiade olahraga tersebut.
Konsep Kepentingan Nasional dan Model Pengambilan Keputusan Luar Negeri William D. Coplin dapat membantu menganalisa faktor-faktor pendorong keikutsertaan Korut dalam Olimpiade Musim Dingin Pyeongchang 2018. Menganalisa keadaan dalam negeri Korut dengan konsep kepentingan nasional, serta dengan model dari Coplin untuk menganalisa unsur-unsur yang menjadi input dalam proses pembuatan keputusan Korut mengenai keikutsertaannya tersebut.
Melalui kerangka pemikiran tersebut didapatkan faktor politik dan ekonomi yang mendorong keikutsertaan Korut dalam Olimpiade Pyeongchang 2018. Dari unsur politik, keputusan tersebut mendapatkan dukungan dari birokrasi dan sebagai momen untuk mendemonstrasikan prestise nasional Korut di dunia internasional. Dari unsur ekonomi, melalui langkah tersebut secara tidak langsung Korut membuka kembali pintu kerjasama dengan Korsel. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | In the beginning of 2018, North Korea became a trending topic worldwide as it participation in PyeongChang Winter Olympic 2018 that held in South Korea. This participation was the very first time for this country in South Korea, after did the boycott toward the Seoul Summer Olympic 1988 which also held in South Korea. It participation in this sport Olympic was not without an aim. The interests which it country wanted to attain for the national prosperity were the factor that drove this country especially the leader to take the decision.
The Concept of National Interest and the Model of Foreign Policy Decision-Making by William D. Coplin were applied to analyze the factor of the North Korea’s participation in PyeongChang Winter Olympic 2018. The Concept of National Interest applied to analyze the national condition of North Korea, and the model by Coplin to analyze the substance as an input in decision-making process of North Korea related to it participate.
Through those frameworks showed that the economic and politics interests were the factors of North Korea’s Participation in PyeongChang Winter Olympic 2018. In the politics matter, the decision supported by the bureaucracy and as a tool to demonstrate North Korea’s national prestige in international arena. For the economic matter, it was the first step of North Korea indirectly to rebuild the economic cooperation with South Korea. | en_US |
