This research examines the Donald Trump‟s reasons to stop the involvement and support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in 2017. During the Obama administration the US strongly supported the running of the TPP and US as if "the face of the TPP". Obama also actively promotes and invites countries in the Asia Pacific region to join the TPP. However, the United States changed policy direction after changing leadership. Trump as a replacement for Obama has a contradictory policy and decides to stop support for the TPP. Qualitative research is used in this research method. Data is obtained through library research and secondary usage sourced data from books, print media (newspapers, journals, etc.) and the internet (websites) that are relevant to the problem under study. This research focuses on Donald Trump's reasons behind the decision which contradicts Obama's policy. Using the theory of perception, this research will find out Trump‟s reasons to stop US support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.en_US
