There is a shift in corn consumption as staple food into rice as the main staple food while the potential for corn production is higher than rice. This study aims to determine the factor of staple food consumption patterns and see the comparison of energy adequacy between rice and corn producer communities in Watumalang District, Wonosobo. This research was conducted intentionally in Watumalang Subdistrict and sample used cluster random sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a 1x 24 hour food recall method. Data analysis used multiple regression analysis. The results show (1) The factors that influence the basic food consumption pattern are the number of family members. Whereas the non-determinants are education, age, income, basic food preferences, basic food availability and knowledge of food and energy. (2) The energy adequacy of corn producer regions is higher than that of energy sufficiency in rice producing regions. This can be seen from the Energy Adequacy Rate (AKE) in the corn producing area of 1839 kcal / cap / day while the Energy Adequacy Rate (AKE) in the rice producing region is 1798 kcal / cap / day.en_US
