dc.descriptionNatural disasters such as floods and droughts in the 1990s that occurred in North Korea caused various problems in this country, such as food shortages and hunger, which led to serious health problems such as tuberculosis. As a result, North Korea has submitted a request for assistance to the international community. In response, a number of countries, international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) participated in the provision of humanitarian assistance to North Korea. One of the NGOs involved is the Eugene Bell Foundation. This paper analyzes the involvement of Eugene Bell Foundation in health issues in North Korea using the concept of NGO conformism by Fakih and the concept of global civil society by Scholte. Based on the data analysis conducted, the involvement of Eugene Bell Foundation in health issues in North Korea was obtained, among others, through the provision of medical assistance, training of medical personnel, and running treatment programs for MDR-TB patients. In addition, the Eugene Bell Foundation also acts as a donor forum, raising public awareness of the issue of tuberculosis, as well as being a bridge for the North Korean government, donors and beneficiaries from the Eugene Bell Foundation's assistance to maximize the handling of health problems in North Korea.en_US
