| dc.description | Marlina, Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak is a movie depicting the background of the life of rural Sumba's woman who lives in a patriarchy world which has the traditions and customs that they must obey. Community in general always describe woman as vulnerable and loving being. However, in this movie, the women described differently from their usual image when they are facing a problem and they have to find a way out. Even when they have to go through a sadist way as a form of self defense. The aim of the research is to find out how the Sumba woman being represented in Marlina, Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak. The data collection technique used is to observe the movie and then take a few images representing the Sumba's woman by capturing it. The collected data were analyzed by using the semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes. The conclusion from the research in the movie of Marlina, Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak is, there are signs that represent Sumba's women which is at first always displayed not in a good condition, but managed to fight back and show that women are strong and able to fight and have the same positions and roles as men. | en_US |
