dc.description | Yogyakarta is special region kind of leadership. Different from other province in Indonesia, Yogyakarta does not conduct general election for governor. The next candidate chosen by Yogyakarta Palace based on hereditary refers to male lineage. The conflict arise since the current Sultan has no son. The eldest daughter of Sultan was given a peerage “Mangkubumi” which cause conflict with Sultan’s brothers. According to history, whoever got thus peerage going to be the next heir. Disclose the opportunity of a woman to be the next heir, Constitutional Court grant deletion of the phrase “wife” from one of requirements as candidate to be. This issue raises various reactions. Mass media surely catch this discourse. This research analyzing how internal conflict of Yogyakarta Palace being written on the local news of Kedaulatan Rakyat (KR) and Tribun Jogja. This research used critical discourse analysis Norman Fairclough. The results represent the partisanship from both of the newspapers. Kedaulatn Rakyat (KR) tend to write the news more into the positive law to disclose female Sultan. While Tribun Jogja tend to write the news more into traditional requirements which has no clue for woman to be a King which made the rejections from Sultan’s brothers more relevant. | en_US |
