dc.descriptionThe general election is one place to provide an opportunity for the people to choose actors in state institutions, one of which is the president and vice president. In the 2019 elections, said millennials were often cited for being very enthusiastic to support one of the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates through political voluntary organizations. One form of political volunteers born of millennials is the Indonesian Millennial Movement (GMI). GMI is here to support the couple meeting Prabowo-Sandi. GMI already exists in 34 provinces and is active in 9 provinces structurally, one of which is GMI D.I Yogyakarta. GMI D.I Yogyakarta has a membership of 250 young people from various backgrounds. GMI moves to campaign for and convey the vision and mission of the presidential candidate pair Prabowo-Sandi to the public throughout the City of D.I. Yogyakarta for the sake of increasing the password electability in the 2019 presidential election. This study uses qualitative research methods with a case study (case study) with a member subject from GMI D.I Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used were direct interviews and documentation. The purpose of this research is to find out the motives of support for Yogyakarta's Indonesian Millennial Movement (GMI) in supporting presidential candidate pair Prabowo-Sandi in the 2019 presidential election using political motive theory from Beck & Sorauf (1992: 115-126) consisting of three motives including: (1) Material Incentive Motives, (2) Solidarity Incentive Motives, (3) Idealism Incentive Motives The results obtained from this study show that of the three political motives, the most widely used by GMI members are the motives of solidarity incentives and idealism motives compared to material incentive motives. Based on this, it can actually be GMI D.I. Yogyakarta is an organization that has a mix incentives motive.en_US
