dc.description | The promotion strategy is very important and must be done by tourist
attractions. Gembia Loka Zoo is one of the tourist and educational place in
the Yogyakarta that doing a promotion strategy. There was an increase in the
number of visitors at Gembira Loka Zoo in 2018, this result very different
compared to the previous years. The increasing number of visitors at
Gembira Loka Zoo in 2018 because of the promotional strategy used the
personal selling promotional tool. Therefore, that was a reason that makes
the researcher interested in conducting the research at Gembira Loka Zoo.
The titled of this research was “The Promotion Strategy at Gembira Loka
Zoo Through Personal Selling to Increasing the Number of Visitors in 2018”.
Moreover, the researcher used a descriptive kualitatif design. The
researcher conducted the research at Gembira Loka Zoo. The data-gathering
technique used to collect the data was by the documentation and in-depth
intrview. The data analysis that the researcher used was a qualitative method.
The aimed of this research was to know how the personal selling strategy can
increase the number of visitors at Gembira Loka Zoo in 2018 by planning,
implementing, and evaluating.
Therefore, the result of this study showed that the promotion strategy
through personal selling can increase the number of visitors at Gembira Loka
Zoo. The increasing number of visitors because personal selling has
advantages, there was a direct interaction or face to face between the parties
of Gembira Loka Zoo with the participants of the promotional activities at
Gembira Loka Zoo with several stages, namely planning, implementation and
