dc.descriptionReading therapy is an effort to provide stimulation to improve the language function of aphasic motor patients. Using the Qur'an as a motor stimulus is an effort to improve speech and spirituality. Aim: The aim of this study was to find the effectiveness of reading therapy using the Qur'an on speech and the spirituality in stroke patients with aphasia. Methods: The experimental method with nonequivalent control group design was applied in this study involved total sample of 20 people divided into 10 intervention groups and 10 control groups using purposive sampling technique. Measurement of speech using the Frenchay Aphasia Screening Test (FAST) and spirituality using the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT) Sp 12 questionnaire. Result: The results of speech ability have significantly increased in the intervention group with a mean±SD difference (1.60±1.075). The test conducted after the treatment showed a difference in the increase of speech between two groups with P=0.034. The results of speech ability have significantly increased in the intervention group with a mean±SD difference (6.80±3.190). The test conducted after the treatment showed a difference in the increase of spirituality between two groups with P=0.034. Conclusion: This therapy can be used as a rehabilitation exercise activity that can be done at home by the patient to improve speech and as a religious activity.en_US
