dc.descriptionBackground: Inability or limitation of intelligence in children with intellectual disabilities makes them vulnerable to problems including reproductive health issues that include anxiety when puberty and sexual abuse / violence and one of the handling efforts is to provide reproductive health education through flashcard and audio visual educative media. Objective: To analyze the differences in the effect of reproductive health education with flashcard and audio visual media in improving the knowledge and attitudes of children with intellectual disabilities. Method: using Pre-experiment with a Pretest-Posttest Design approach to quota sampling, non-probability sampling techniques. The population of children with intellectual disabilities in SLB Bangun Putra Kasihan Bantul and SLB Rela Bhakti Gamping 1 Sleman, a sample of 48 people consisting of 24 flashcard groups and 24 audio visual groups. Results: the influence of reproductive health education using flashcard media p value flashcard value 0.00 <0.05 and p value audio visual value 0.00 <0.05. Delta value or difference value in the knowledge flashcard media intervention group = 33.48 and attitude 30.15 while in the audio visual media group for knowledge 15.52 and attitude 18.85. Conclusion: reproductive health education with flashcard media is more influential compared to audio visual media in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of children with intellectual disabilitiesen_US
