dc.descriptionThis research aims at finding the history of Muhammadiyah education in the Sub District of Arjasa, Sumenep Regency, Kangean Island. Specifically, this research aims to historically figure out how Muhammadiyah education entered into Arjasa Sub District. This research was a historical education research with descriptive-qualitative approach. This research was a strategy in which the researcher examined events, activities, processes or time allocations. The subject of this research was the Branch Leader of Muhammadiyah in Arjasa Sub District. The data collection technique was through observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis was conducted through three stages: data reduction, data display, and data verification. This research indicates that Muhammadiyah did not establish and develop as simple as it seems to be. It began with Makassar and Madura merchants who sailed over the island and brought the understanding of Muhammadiyah. It was then developed by a figure who was the nephew of K.H. Mas Mansur.en_US
