| dc.description | This research aims to find out what are the factors behind the exit of Venezuela from its membership in the IMF and World Bank during Hugo Chavez's reign. In addition, this study also wants to see how economic policies from the IMF and World Bank and their impact on the economies of member countries borrow funds from them. The theory used of this research is the theory stretched by William D Coplin about foreign policy. Based on the results, that the government of Hugo Chavez is a revolutionary government. The policy during the previous administration was completely overhauled to produce poverty, infant and child mortality, unemployment dropped dramatically, also state-owned enterprises were fully owned and managed by the state. However, policies that favor the small people are actually opposed by high-income people. They and the United States are trying to overthrow Hugo Chavez's government. Venezuela’s discharge from the IMF and World Bank was due to the worsening economic and political conditions of the country. This is supported by a corrupt government and it supports the IMF and World Bank systems that do not take side to small people. In the end, with a mature energy readiness and good conditions and domestic political support from Venezuela, Venezuela succeeded in getting out of the IMF and World Bank membership. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja faktor yang melatarbelakangi keluarnya Venezuela dari keanggotaannya di IMF dan World Bank pada masa pemerintahan Hugo Chavez. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga ingin melihat bagaimana kebijakan ekonomi dari IMF dan World Bank dan dampaknya terhadap perekonomian negara anggota yang meminjam dana kepada mereka. Teori yang digunakan dalam penyusunan penelitian ini adalah teori yang di usung oleh William D Coplin tentang kebijakan luar negeri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapatkan oleh penulis, bahwa pemerintahan Hugo Chavez merupakan pemerintahan yang revolusioner. Kebijakan pada masa pemerintahan sebelumnya dirombak total sehingga menghasilkan angka kemiskinan, kematian bayi dan anak, pengangguran menurun drastis, juga badan usaha milik negara telah sepenuhnya dimiliki dan dikelola oleh negara. Namun, kebijakan yang memihak pada rakyat kecil ini justru ditentang oleh masyarakat berpenghasilan tinggi. Mereka bersama Amerika Serikat berusaha menggulingkan pemerintahan Hugo Chavez. Keluarnya Venezuela dari IMF dan World Bank dikarenakan semakin memburuknya kondisi ekonomi dan politik negara tersebut. Hal ini didukung dengan pemerintahan yang korup dan justru mendukung system IMF dan World Bank yang tidak memihak pada rakyat kecil. Pada akhirnya dengan kesiapan energy yang matang serta kondisi dan dukungan politik dalam negeri Venezuela yang sudah baik, membuat Venezuela berhasil keluar dari keanggotaan IMF dan World Bank. | en_US |
