| dc.description | The country's strategy to achieve its national interests is to implement foreign policy. These interests can take the form of interests in the economic, military, security and others. Donald Trump as a president of United States made a foreign policy that is building a wall on the border of the United States and Mexico to prevent illegal immigrants. In 2016 illegal immigrants in the United States are estimated to have reached 12 million people. One of the highest contributor countries for immigrants comes from Mexico. Trump considers that the situation has a negative impact on the United States both in terms of economy and security. Although Trump's policies reap the pros and cons on various sides, but Trump still insisted that the construction of the wall on the border of the United States and Mexico be realized. The reason Trump carried out the policy was because of domestic, economic and military political factors. | dc.description.abstract | Strategi negara untuk dapat mencapai kepentingan nasionalnya adalah dengan melaksanakan kebijakan luar negeri. Kepentingan tersebut dapat berupa kepentingan dalam bidang ekonomi, militer, keamanan maupun lainnya. Presiden Amerika Serikat Donald Trump membuat kebijakan luar negeri yaitu membangun tembok di perbatasan Amerika Serikat dan Meksiko untuk mencegah imigran ilegal. Tahun 2016 imigran ilegal di Amerika Serikat diperkirakan sudah mencapai 12 juta orang. Salah satu negara penyumbang imigran tertinggi yaitu berasal dari Meksiko. Trump menganggap bahwa keadaan tersebut memberikan dampak buruk bagi Amerika Serikat baik dalam segi ekonomi maupun keamanan. Walaupun kebijakan Trump menuai pro dan kontra di berbagai pihak, tetapi Trump tetap bersikeras agar pembangunan tembok di perbatasan Amerika Serikat dan Meksiko terwujud.
