| dc.description | Latar belakang : limbah medis adalah bagian penyebab terjadinya infeksi di rumah sakit, pengelolaan limbah medis yang tidak sesuai akan meningkatkan resiko Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) pada petugas, pasien, keluarga pasien serta petugas non medis di lingkugan rumah sakit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi pengelolaan limbah medis serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolan limbah medis oleh perawat di ruang IGD RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul.
Metode : jenis penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam pada 4 perawat pelaksanan di ruang IGD, kepala ruangan, komite pencegahan dan pengendalian infeksi (PPI) dan kepala bagian sanitasi.
Hasil : hasil penelitian dengan tema sarana pendukung (sub tema ketersediaan SPO, fasilitas pengelolaan limbah, sosialisasi PPI), tema proses pelaksanaan (sub tema pemilahan limbah, jenis limbah), tema dampak dan kendala (sub tema dampak, kendala).
Kesimpulan : proses pengelolaan limbah telah dilaksanakan oleh perawat di ruang IGD, namun proses pengelolaan belum dilaksanakan secara maksimal karena terkendala situasi IGD, kesadaran diri petugas dan ketersediaan fasilitas sesuai kebutuhan sehingga menyebabkan dampak luka tusuk benda tajam pada beberapa perawat serta pertambahan jumlah limbah medis yang dihasilkan. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Background : Medical waste is part of the cause of infection in hospitals, improper management of medical waste will increase the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) for the officers, patients, families of patients and non-medical officers in the hospital environment. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the management of medical waste and to find out the factors that influence the management of medical waste by nurses in the emergency room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Bantul.
Method : The type of the research is descriptive qualitative with in-depth interviewing techniques on 4 implementation nurses in the emergency room, head of the room, infection prevention and control committee (PPI) and head of the sanitation department.
Results : The results of the research with the theme of supporting facilities (sub-themes of SPO availability, waste management facilities, PPI socialization), theme of the implementation process (sub-themes of waste sorting, types of waste), impact themes and constraints (sub-themes of impacts, constraints).
Conclusion : The waste management process has been carried out by nurses in the emergency room, but the management process has not been carried out maximally due to the constraints of the emergency situation, officers' self-awareness and availability of facilities as needed, causing the impact of sharp object stab wounds on several nurses as well as increasing the amount of medical waste produced. | en_US |
