| dc.description | The object of this research is a video clip of Surefire and Love Me Now. The purpose of this research is to find out how the resistance against Donald Trump is constructed in the video clip by John Legend. The video clip tells about racism practiced by Donald Trump, among others Islamophobia and immigrants. This research was conducted using a semiotic analysis method using John Fiske's television code sets. In John Fiske's semiotic analysis there are three levels to find out the codes that appear, namely the level of reality, the level of representation and the level of ideology. The results of research on the video clips Surefire and Love Me Now show Donald Trump as president caused controversy especially for minorities. Increased discrimination in minority communities, especially Muslims and immigrants in his leadership as president. In the video clip Islam is considered a radical religion and immigrants are represented as criminal acts that threaten the country. Then in the video clip John Legend became a symbol of resistance and peace to convey messages of peace. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Obyek penelitian ini adalah video klip Surefire dan Love Me Now. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perlawanan terhadap Donald Trump yang terkontruksi dalam video klip karya John Legend. Video klip tersebut menceritakan tentang rasisme yang dilakukan oleh Donald trump antara lain Islamophobia dan imigran. penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis semiotik menggunakan perangkat-perangkat kode televisual milik John Fiske. Pada analisis semiotik John Fiske terdapat tiga level untuk mengetahui kode-kode yang muncul yaitu level realitas, level representasi dan level ideologi. Hasil penelitian terhadap video klip Surefire dan Love Me Now menunjukan Donald Trump sebagai presiden menimbulkan kontroversi kususnya bagi masyarakat minoritas. Meningkatnya diskriminasi masyarakat minoritas kususnya muslim dan imigran dalam kepemimpinannya sebagai presiden. Dalam video klip tersebut Islam dianggap sebagai agama yang radikal dan imigran direpresentasikan sebagai tindakan kriminal yang mengancam negara. Kemudian dalam video klip tersebut John Legend menjadi simbol perlawanan dan perdamaian untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan perdamaian. | en_US |
