Background : Composite resin is a restoration material that is often used because the colour is similar to teeth, but it easily discolored. Bleaching is method to repair a composite resin or tooth that has been discolored. Bleaching material has some negative effects such as sensitive teeth, external root resorbtion, microleakage on the restoration. Natural ingredients such as siwak extract ,red guava, and lime can be used as alternatif bleaching. This study compared the effectiveness of those three natural ingredients. Method : This study was a quasi experimental laboratory with cross sectional approach. This study use 20 samples of nanohybrid type composite resin, it formed tablets with a diameter of 7 mm and thickness of 2 mm and then soaked in black coffee for 7 days then measured using a spectrophotometer. These samples divided into 4 groups composite resin soaked in hidrogen perokside 3 %, red guava, lime and siwak extract for 5 days then measured again using a spectrophotometer. Results : There were significant differences between red guava, lime and siwak group. The result of data analysis showed that siwak extract could reduce discoloration, followed by guava extract, but didn’t more effective than 3% hydrogen peroxide. Lime extract couldn’t reduce extrinsic discoloration of composite resin.en_US
