dc.descriptionBackground: Chicken eggshells contain high calcium containing 97% calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate contained in chicken eggshells can be converted to hydroxyapatite or calcium composition, which can be used as a composition of tooth structure that increases demineralization Objective: To determine the effect of domestic chicken egg shell paste application on remineralization of enamel using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Method: This type of research is a laboratory experimental with a post test only control group design. The sample used in this study was 5 premolars which had been smeared with acid etching for 60 seconds. Samples that have been ordered for acid etching are then applied to the chicken egg shell paste on the buccal part of the tooth for 24 hours 1 time for 14 days. Tooth enamel remineralization was analyzed using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with remineralization indicators that compared dental samples before and after the chicken egg shell paste was applied qualitatively. Result: Close enamel microporosity occurred after the application of chicken egg shell paste with irregular surface details, and in some parts of the surface there was little microporosity. Conclusion: the calcium needed in chicken eggshells can be removed by tooth enamel structure due to acid etching demineralization. This can be seen from the change in surface of the enamel microporosity, including the closure of the email prism after the application of the country's chicken egg shell paste for 14 days. Being able to increase domestic chicken eggshells can improve remineralization of tooth enamel.en_US
