dc.description | As civilization develops, the need for hot water for bathing is used in hotels,
homestays, and others is increasing. However, the use of hot water in hotels is still
largely dependent on LPG gas as fuel. Therefore, Solar Water Heater (SWH) is used
because it uses solar radiation energy as a substitute for fossil energy. In addition,
water also has the disadvantage of high density so it requires PCM (Phase Change
Material) to reduce the density of the water. The PCM material itself is a mixture of
paraffin wax and 20% by weight copper powder. The purpose of this study is to
determine the rate of decrease in temperature of water, the rate of decrease in
temperature of PCM, the rate of release of water heat, and the rate of release of heat
of PCM
This study uses variations in water discharge, including 1; 1,5; 2; up to 2.5
LPM. Data collection is done by discharg
The data used during the discharging process are the temperature of the water in the
tank, PCM in the tank and the water in the reservoir.
The results of this study are the 2.5 LPM variation has the highest rate of
water temperature reduction that is 18.65 ℃ / hour and the highest rate of PCM
temperature reduction at 2.5 LPM variation is 18.77 ℃ / hour. While the highest rate
of water release at 2.5 LPM was 933.91 J / s and the highest rate of PCM heating at
2.5 LPM was 69.37 J / s. | en_US |
