dc.descriptionBackground: Smoking is a phenomenon that we often find in society, especially among men. Usually. Smokers are still teenagers. In cigarettes there is a nicotine substance that can make smokers become dependent on nicotine. Smokers who have experienced dependency will experience withdrawal syndrome. The earlier age of smoking begins, the higher level of dependence it will be. The bad impact of nicotine dependence is that smokers will find it difficult to stop smoking. Objective: To explore the experience of nicotine dependence on adolescent smokers. Research Methods: This research is a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The informants of this study were 5 informants. In-depth interview method was used to collect the data. Participants are determined using the purposive sampling method. This study used triangulation and credibility techniques to assess the truth of a research data. Data analysis used the open code 4.02 application. Results: The results of the study showed that the average age of first times smoking was under 18 years. Smoking makes the smokers feel happy, calming their mind, also increase concentration and mood. When smokers stop smoking, they became anxious and craving to start smoking again. Informants used distract their craving to smoke again, participants feel hard to stop smoking, Conclusion: The conclusions from this study were 4 themes, namely age of starting smoking, causes of smoking, perception of smoking, and experience of quitting smoking.en_US
