dc.description | Background: Dental and Oral health problems have a high influence on a person's productivity and quality of life. It also can be the manifestation of systemic disease. Health promotion is an effort to improve dental and oral health. Social media such as Whatsapp can be used as dental and oral health promotion media.
Objective: The aim of this research is to compare the knowledge of students in UMY female dormitory before and after using Whatsapp as media of oral and health science promotion.
Methods. The design of this study was quasi experimental with the approach of one group pretest and posttest design. A total sample of 70 people was selected using the simple random sampling method which was conducted on UMY female Dormiory. This research was conducted for 28 days in the group a place for giving health exposure. On the first day to the 14th day, exposure to dental and oral health using whatsapp in the form of a picture message followed by a video message on the 14th day was then repeated again on days 15 to 28. Days before and after the study. The analysis is the Wilcoxon test
Result: The result of this research shown that there is a significant difference (p<0.05) between students that use whatsapp and students before use wa as dental and oral health media promotion.
Conclusion: Dental and oral health promotion using WhatsApp have an influence to the knowledge of the first batch of UMY female dormitory. | en_US |
