Diesel fuel (B0) has an increasing demand from year to year while B0 fuel used to meet consumer demand is increasingly limited. Biodiesel is a renewable alternative fuel, biodiesel compared to B0 fuel has several disadvantages, namely high viscosity, and lower calorific value than B0. In this study, the raw materials used are castor oil biodiesel and palm oil. This study aims to obtain the characteristics of palm-castor oil biodiesel fuel in the form of power, specific fuel consumption, fuel injection characteristics. This study uses B0 fuel and a mixture of biodiesel variations of B5, B10, B15, and B20 by testing their physical properties. Tests using a single-cylinder diesel engine that is connected to the generator with a load of 5 lamps with the power of each lamp 500 watts. Then the diesel engine performance test, fuel consumption test, and injection characteristics are tested. The results showed that the performance of a 3:2 palm-oil biodiesel diesel engine variation of B5, B10, B15, and B20 produced almost the same power as the B0 fuel. At maximum loading, B5 fuel produces the highest power compared to other variations, because the B5 fuel mix composition is 5% biodiesel compared to 95% B0. B0 fuel is the fuel that consumes the most fuel (wasteful) compared to other types of biodiesel fuel variations. Biodiesel variation of B20 is the most economical fuel because the SFC value of the B20 variation is the lowest compared to other fuel variations. In testing the injection characteristics show that B0 fuel has the widest spray angle. Whereas castor oil has the smallest spray angle.en_US
