dc.description.abstract | Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is one of the leading commodities in Dlingo Subdistrict with a harvest area of 1,563 hectares. The geological formation of Dlingo Subdistrict which is similar to the geological formation of Gunung Kidul Regency, allows Dlingo District to be used as one of the cassava plant development areas. This research aims to determine the characteristics and class of land suitability for the development of cassava plants in Dlingo Subdistrict, Bantul Regency.
This research used a survei method and carried out in 6 villages in Dlingo Subdistrict. Determination of sample points based on the slope that is possible for planting cassava, namely 0-15%, soil type, and use of upland/mixed garden.
The results of this research is showed that Dlingo Subdistrict is an area that has very suitable temperature and rainfall which is quite suitable for the development of cassava plants.Land in Dlingo Subdistrict has clay and clayey texture, effective depth, good to moderate soil drainage, soil CEC varies from low, medium, high to very high, very high base saturation, neutral pH, low C-organic value, N-content low total, high P2O5 temperature, K2O content varies from low, medium to very high, has no flood hazard and low surface rock conditions, there is no erosion hazard and there are many rock outcrops. The actual land suitability in Dlingo Subdistrict at the unit level is S3na-1, S3na-3, S3eh-1, and S3rc-1 with limiting factors for nitrogen nutrients, potassium nutrients, slope, and effective depth of soil. Potential land suitability in Dlingo Subdistrict is S2 or quite appropriate. | en_US |
