dc.descriptionThe film/movie is one of the media mass communication media favored by the public. It has advantages compared other media for it can communicate the audio and visual message to the audience simultaneously. Therefore, it is commonly known that the movie has a great effect to the audience's mental. No wonder so many films or movies are made with the aim of educating the audience. On of those movies is Bilal: A New Breed of Hero. This movie is the first animated movie to take the theme of the real hero in the Islamic history. However, there was many discussions or dissapointments about this movie in the Muslim community themselves for several reasons. One of the reason is the movie is not show or potray any scene of the call for the prayer (azan) even though the hero in the movie, Bilal, is very related to azan for he is the first person in history of Islam who do the azan. For that reason, the purpose of this research is to study the message of da‟wah (Islamic guidance and preaching) in the movie Bilal: A New Breed of Hero. The methode used in the study is the thematic analysis, a type of the content analysis quantitative. There are three themes os Islamic values and teachings that analyzed in the movie, namely aqidah (Islamic faith), syariah (sharia or Islamic laws), and akhlaq (Islamic etiquette or morality). The results of this study shows that there are da‟wa preaching (preaching and guidance) messages in the film Bilal: A New Breed of Hero, which are as follows: (1) Aqidah, which contains divine elements, and prophecy (nubuwah). (2) Sharia in the form of worship. (3) Akhlaq which include morals or the way of behave to creatures and morals to Khaliq (The Creator, The God). Broadly speaking, the percentage of preaching messages is 25% aqidah, 8,3% sharia, and 66,7% akhlaq (morals).en_US
