dc.description.abstractThe use of the internet has given effect to an increasingly crowded new type of journalism, namely online journalism. One of the web page of online journalism that pretty much accessible in Indonesia is the ‘detikcom’ (www.detik.com). As a form of journalism, the news in ‘detikcom’ should not be separated from the code of journalistic ethics that was made by the PWI (Indonesian Journalists Association). In doing the news coverage until the broadcast, ‘detikcom’ must adhere to the fundamentals that exist in the code of ethics. The existence of this code is to regulate journalists in order not to violate the rules and policies that apply whenever the journalist doing his job. However, the violations of the code of journalistic ethics are still frequent. Based on this issue, the author would like to see the extent to which the application of journalistic ethics on the ‘detikcom’ web page. The study was conducted using descriptive studies to look at the code of journalistic ethics in ‘detikcom’ reporting. The application will be viewed in terms of its practice or its infraction.en_US
