dc.description.abstractThis study started from the assumption that media is an agent that can distribute the idea of globalization to the world. In Malaysia, in particular, the phenomenon of globalization has raised two trends, namely popular culture and glocalization. By using a critical study, the researcher will see to what extent these two trends are applied. The existence of popular cultural is indicates Malaysian society has taken a global culture by the media. While the glocalization shows that local culture is still embedded in society. Furthermore, this popular culture phenomenon causing homogenization of culture because it removes local culture traits and the phenomenon of glocalization may strengthen cultural diversity because it combines both elements of local and global. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of media on globalization in Malaysia.en_US
