dc.description.abstractBackground : Respiratory disorders have a variety of symptoms and require an appropriate nursing care. The quality of nursing care is determined by the accuracy in determining nursing diagnoses by using NANDA taxonomy. By having an accurate nursing diagnoses, nurses will be able to have an appropriate choices of outcome and intervention. Objective : To identify the most priority nursing diagnoses of patients with respiratory disorders. Methods : A descriptive case study has been applied in this study. This study was conducted in Persahabatan Hospital from February to December 2015. Results: Thirty patients were cared and diagnosed using NANDA taxonomy II. The average age of the patients was 46 years, male predominated (77%) and patients were diagnosed with lung cancer (30 %), tuberculosis (23,3 %), pneumothorax tuberculosis (16,7 %), hidropneumothorax tuberculosis (10 %), COPD (16,7 %), and asthma (3,3 %). The most priority nursing diagnoses in patients with respiratory disorders were: ineffective airway clearance (40%), impaired gas exchange (26,7 %), ineffective breathing pattern (13,3%), nausea (6,7%), acute pain (3,3%), impaired spontaneous ventilation (3,3 %), dysfunctional ventilatory weaning response (3,3 %), deficient knowledge (3,3%). Conclusion: The most nursing diagnoses appeared on respiratory disorders is ineffective airway clearance.en_US
