| dc.description | Film bertemakan jurnalisme telah banyak mewarnai perfilman Hollywood saat ini. Salah satunya adalah film Nightcrawler yang mengangkat tema mengenai profesi jurnalis di Amerika Serikat. Profesi jurnalis dalam film memperlihatkan adanya perbedaan antara jurnalis yang profesional maupun yang tidak profesional. Film ini menggambarkan seorang tokoh jurnalis yang tidak berpegang pada idealisme jurnalistik dan selalu melanggar etika jurnalisme, karena adanya pemahaman yang salah mengenai profesi jurnalis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis naratif model Algirdas Greimas yang menggunakan dua struktur analisis, yaitu struktur analisis lahir model aktan dan struktur analisis batin oposisi biner. Greimas menganalogikan narasi sebagai struktur makna, seperti sebuah kalimat yang terdiri atas rangkaian kata-kata, yang setiap kata memiliki posisi dan fungsinya masing-masing. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa film Nightcrawler menampilkan media sebagai sorotan utama yang berada di balik para jurnalis yang terikat atau bekerja di bawah naungan media tersebut. Dalam film ini, beberapa jurnalis digambarkan memiliki pemahaman yang salah mengenai profesionalitas dalam jurnalisme, serta mendapatkan informasi atau pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai dalam profesi jurnalis. Media yang memberikan tekanan dan menerapkan prinsip jurnalisme yang tidak benar, kerap membuat para jurnalis lepas dari idealismenya dan melanggar etika jurnalisme | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | There are many journalism-themed movies which have colored the Hollywood film industry today. One of them is Nightcrawler movie that the theme of the profession of journalism in America. The profession of journalist in the film shows the difference between professional and unprofessional journalist. This film shows a character of journalist who is not hold on to journalistic idealism and always violates the ethic of journalism, because there is a missunderstanding of the profession of journalist. This study uses a model of Algirdas Greimas narrative analysis technique that uses two structure analysis, namely actantial model of birth structural analysis and analysis of the inner structure of binary oppositions. Greimas analogizes the narrative as a structure of meaning, like a sentence consisting of a series of words. Each word has a position and function of each. The results shows that Nightcrawler movie displays the media as the main focus behind the journalists who are bound or work under the umbrellas of the media. In the movie, several journalists are described as having a misunderstanding of the professionalism in journalism, as well as getting information or learning that is not in accordance with the profession of journalism. Media that give pressure and apply the inappropriate principles of journalism often makes the journalist leaves his/her idealism and violates the ethic of journalism. | en_US |
