| dc.description | Perubahan warna gigi diatasi dengan perawatan bleaching. Perawatan bleaching menggunakan bahan kimia menyebabkan beberapa efek samping. Iritasi jaringan lunak merupakan salah satu efek samping yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh bahan kimia bleaching. Belimbing manis dapat digunakan sebagai bahan alternatif bleaching karena mengandung asam oksalat yang mampu memutihkan gigi.
Tujuan Penelitian : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bleaching dengan ekstrak buah belimbing manis terhadap derajat perubahan warna gigi.
Metode penelitian : Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratoris secara in-vitro. Sampel terdiri dari 15 gigi premolar, semua gigi direndam di dalam larutan teh selama 12 hari untuk menimbulkan efek diskolorasi, selanjutnya warna gigi diukur dengan Spectrophotometer. Sampel dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok uji, masing-masing kelompok 5 gigi. Kelompok pertama direndam dengan ekstrak belimbing manis 100%, kelompok kedua direndam dengan karbamid peroksida sebagai kontrol positif, dan kelompok ketiga direndam dengan akuades sebagai kontrol negatif. Gigi direndam selama 126 jam. Warna gigi diukur kembali menggunakan Spectrophotometer. Analisis data menggunakan uji t-test berpasangan, One Way Anova, dan LSD (Least Significance Diffence).
Hasil : Hasil uji t-test berpasangan menunjukkan nilai p= 0,000 pada ekstrak belimbing manis 100% dan karbamid peroksida 10%, p=0,001 pada akuades (p<0,05) berarti ekstrak belimbing manis 100%, karbamid peroksida 10%, dan akuades mempunyai pengaruh untuk membuat gigi menjadi lebih putih. Hasil uji One Way Anova menunjukkan nilai p= 0,000 (p<0,05) pada yang berarti terdapat pengaruh pada ketiga bahan yang digunakan terhadap perubahan warna gigi. Hasil uji LSD menunjukkan adanya perbedaan perubahan warna gigi yang bermakna antar kelompok bahan yang digunakan.
Kesimpulan : Terdapat pengaruh ekstrak buah belimbing manis terhadap derajat perubahan warna gigi pada proses bleaching | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Teeth discoloration can be treated with bleaching process. Bleaching treatment by using chemical can cause side effect. Irritation to soft tissue is one of the side effects in using bleaching material. Starfruit extract can be used as an alternative bleaching material because it contains oxalic acid that can whiten the teeth.
Aim : The aim of this study is to find out the effect of bleaching with starfruit towards the change of the colour of the teeth.
Methods : This study was an in vitro experimental labolatory study. Samples consists of 15 premolar tooth which are rinsed in a tea solution for 12 days to create a discoloration effect. The colour of the teeth was then measured by using Spectrophotometer. The samples divided into 3 groups, each containing 5 teeth. The first group were submersed with starfruit extract 100%, the second group were submersed with carbamide peroxide as a positive control, and the third group were submersed in aquades as a negative control. The teeth were submersed for 126 hours. The colour of each tooth was again measured by using Spectrophotometer. The data were then analysed by using pair-t test, on way anova and LSD (Least Significance Difference).
Result : Pair-t test showed p value of the starfruit extract 100% and carbamide peroxide 100% is 0,000 while the p value of aquades is 0,001 (P<0,05). This shows that starfruit extract 100%, carbamide peroxide, and aquades affect the tooth color to belome whiter. The one way anova test revealed that the p value = 0,000 (0,05) which means that all three substances gives whitening effect to the teeth. The results of the LSD test shows that there are significant differences between the three substances used.
Conclusion : There are significant effects on using starfruit extract towards the colour change of the teeth during bleaching process. | en_US |
