MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR REPORTING MISSING OR FOUND VEHICLES, IN SUPPORTING THE SERVICES AT POLICE INSTITUTION IN BANDUNG
Abstract
Indonesian National Police is a government agency in charge of maintaining public order and safety, as well as service to the community. The development of information technology today is highly expected to improve activity of police services to the community. One type of service that is expected to be helped by advances in information technology are searching for complaint or information about the missing vehicle. Due to reports of missing vehicles are often the subject of public complaints over a period of several years, but from the authors obtained data shows that there is a gap between the number of missing vehicles with a number of vehicles have been found. And so far, the public is also lack of information about the missing vehicle data that has been found. This research has the goal to create a portal website that could be the solution to the problems of reporting the missing vehicle. The method used in this study is action research method that is more focused on solving problems that are reflective and collaborative. While the system development method used is the method of prototyping. The information system modeling tool used is a context diagram, data flow diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams. From the results of the study revealed several facts such as the causes of the lack of missing vehicles were resolved and creating information retrieval system missing vehicle to assist the police in order to disseminate information regarding the status of the missing vehicle.
