United States is a superpower countries that has the power which is strongly accounted in the international community. Directly, as the result this conflict ended with the ethnics conflict between Albanian and Serbian. The ethnic’s conflict can be existed in Kosovo generally is because of the ethnic cleansing of Albanian in the era of Slobodan Milosevic by nasionalist of Serbian. In the case of ethnic conflict between Serbia and Kosovo, United States took the role as a country which supports Kosovo's independence. Besides that, not only the United States who supporting the independence of Kosovo but the European countries who are members of NATO also supports the attainment of independence of Kosovo. A lot of help were given by the United States for the sake of accomplishing the independence of Kosovo. Including United States became the mediator for the peace bridging in the ethnic conflict of Serbia – Kosovo, United States also held a Conference in this conflict, then United States exerting the body of NGOS, USAID (United States Agency for International Development) to provide aid to the Kosovo region that is still in progress until after the independence of Kosovo. The method used is library research where obtained through literature review from journals, books, mini thesis, reports, and internet to explain the United States intervention towards Kosovo. The writer used the theories in this research are National Interest theory and Foreign Policy theory. The United States conducted intervention is based on the ground of depriving the humanitarian rights of ethnic Albania in the ethnic cleansing committed by Serbia. But behind the involvement of the United States to play they role in Kosovo very well, it causes of United State have a national interest for their country.
