This study attempts to analyze the involvement of Fourcolours Films in independent film movement in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the involvement of Fourcolours Films in independent film movements in Yogyakarta ond to find out how the thinking of those in Fourcolours Films about themselves and what they do in the Fourcolours Films. The methodology used in this study is the analysis of ethnographic, seeing trough Anthony Giddens's structuration theory. The results revealed that as a center of economic, government ond politics activity, Jokarta offer capital, technology and also eose in dealing with government bureaucracy. This dependence to Jakorta perceived impedes the creotive process of filmmaker in Yogyakorta. Because Fourcolours Films has the spirit to changed Yogyakarta as one of the mecca of film industry, in their daily activities Fourcolours Films has to be open to the people of Yogyokarta who want to study film. Fourcolours Films wonts to develop the film industry in Yogyakarta olthough faced with vorious limitations, in fact this also moke the people in Fourcolours Films being more creative.
