NILAI-NILAI PERDAMAIAN DALAM BUKU TEKS AL-ISLAM (AKHLAK) DI SEKOLAH MUHAMMADIYAH
Abstract
The writing investigates whether the textbook on Islamic Ethics provided for Muhammadiyah schools clearly indicates to have peaceful values promotion. Uncovering peaceful values-based teaching materials has been pivotal since a lot of social conflicts, to some extent, tend to increase. Conflicts and violence among students for instance, have shaped the recent Indonesian public. Such public conflicts or violations by means need to be systematically and sustainably handled. As one of the possible solutions, it is a long-term for sure, by providing a set of peaceful values and notions transformed through a textbook that can be easily read and comprehended by students. This writing tries to elaborate peaceful values contained within Islamic Ethics textbooks published by the Board of Basic and Middle Education of Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta special territory. By the use of content analysis to the textbook, this writing finds that teaching materials written in the Islamic Ethics textbook generally contains peaceful values. However, in detail, inter-conceptual relations and clarifications on these peaceful values and cultures need to be deeply explored. Further, it also has such technical issues as placing either some pictures or story tellings which are not clearly mentioned with their references. It seems that some pictures put on, do not fit narrated thoughts. Therefore, this textbook content would be conceptually more clarified if some existing unclear explanations can be corrected and developed.
